Tracey Deaux was a Division I athlete and four-year starting catcher at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. As one of Samfords best defensive players, Tracey led the team in fielding percentage at .986, only committing one error in 101 chances. She helped lead Samford in most blocks at the plate and throw outs at second base, throwing 7 out of 8 runners in Conference play. In addition, Tracey received the 2008 Bulldog Award for her strong leadership on and off the field.
Before her time at Samford, Tracey was a four-year starting catcher at Collierville High School under Coach Mike Bradley. Her senior year, she earned the Most Valuable Player Award as well as Best of the Preps. As a junior, she earned the Golden Glove Award for her outstanding defensive leadership.
